A community space where people find help, purpose, and belonging—side by side.
To engage with those in adversity by creating connections, cultivating skills, and opening doors of opportunity.
We’ve seen the gaps and the individuals burdened by falling through – and we believe they are deserving of the assistance we can provide.
For years, Scott Voos carried a vision — not just of a place, but of a community shaped by a shared question:
And just as importantly:
In early 2020, Scott gathered a small team to begin shaping a space rooted in relationship, dignity, and presence. Together, they spent months listening, learning, and acknowledging the very real challenges many of our neighbors were facing in our community.
In September 2020, that vision became Be Able.
From the beginning, Be Able was created to serve neighbors in a different way — meeting people where they are, without judgment or institutional barriers, and centering relationships as the foundation for growth. Our approach is rooted in walking alongside individuals day by day, offering connection before solutions.
Since opening our doors, Be Able has continued to grow in response to real needs — expanding from a community center and resource connector to include laundry and shower access, a free community closet, and sober living transitional housing.
While our programs have expanded, our purpose remains the same: to be a place where neighbors are seen, supported, and encouraged toward stability — together.

“I was drawn to Be Able because the people involved in this organization work hard to provide a community of love and support for our neighbors starting where they are. Teaching others to fish and supporting them in their journey is my life mission.”

"Besides loving God, I don’t believe there is a greater calling than “to love your neighbor as yourself!” I want to help the Be Able Community make a difference."
