Be Able Friends,
I’m still filled with gratitude as I think back on our Upside-Down Auction. What an evening! Over 230 people came together, along with 35+ volunteers, and together we raised an incredible $114,000. Your generosity, energy, and encouragement that night were overwhelming. Thank you. I also want to directly thank Sarah Clancy, Dee Johnson and Deanna Nitschke… each of these ladies have volunteered countless hours over the past YEAR to pull off this event… It would not have happened without them! |
Because of your support, we are excited to take the next steps in Phase 2 of our renovations. This includes adding a designated learning space for workshops and recovery groups, creating much needed shared office space for our growing team, and improving our outdoor site so we can better serve and welcome neighbors. We currently have a "dream team" of board and staff members that are working with BG Consultants to lay out the renovation strategy.
Alongside these renovations, we are laying the groundwork for the Be Able Academy… a robust curriculum designed to prepare individuals for workforce readiness. This will be a place where our neighbors can learn, train, and step into meaningful employment with confidence.
If you missed this year’s event but would still like to contribute to these exciting initiatives, you can join in by adding to the gifts from the auction. Simply make a gift online atbeablecommunity.com/donate.
Your partnership makes all of this possible. Together, we are building more than programs or buildings… we are building second chances, stability, and hope.

A huge thank you to our friends at Landmark National Bank! For the entire month of September, their team is showing up every Friday to lend a hand here at Be Able.
They’re also gathering supplies to bless our neighbors… and this week they made a huge impact by organizing and refreshing our shower and laundry area. It looks fantastic, and it’s already making a difference for those we serve. We’re grateful for their generosity, their time, and their heart for this community!

Thanks toManhattan Town Center! |
We deposited have $825.77 in coins from their fountain to support Be Able’s work!
It took hours of scrubbing, sorting, and shining, but every cent represents someone’s wish—and now those wishes are helping neighbors take real steps forward. Thank you to everyone who guessed, helped, and cheered us on through this process. This is what community looks like! |
Your support helps us sustain programs, expand outreach, build trust, and ensure long-term impact for our community.
How does it work? What does a financial partnership look like for you?
Those are great questions.
Let's setup a meeting to explore the most effective opportunies for you. |
Right out front of our Be Able housing is something new, something meaningful: a handcrafted sign that reads “BE HOME.”
Created by our talented friend and local artist Mark Burghart (red shirt, pictured center), this sign is more than wood and epoxy. It’s a work of art made with care… wood burning, painting, and craftsmanship. This will be the first thing residents see as they enter a safe, supportive home, and the last thing they see as they step out ready for a new chapter.
We have a special tradition planned for this sign: every graduate of our program will sign the back, leaving a message of encouragement for those who come after them.
Thank you, Mark, for using your gifts to make this house feel like a home… and a symbol of hope for every man who walks through these doors! |
