On Monday, April 22, 2025, the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation is hosting the 12th annual Grow Green Match Day! On this day, donations made through the GMCF to Be Able will receive a 50% match up to $7500. There are 2 simple ways to give:

Through his hard work and dedication, he has taken incredible steps—securing a home, steady employment, a car, and actively engaging in recovery. But what’s truly inspiring is how he now gives back, walking alongside others who are where he once was. Because of his leadership and lived experience, Gary has been invited to serve on our Housing Advisory Team, helping shape the future of our Supportive Housing Program. His story is proof that change is possible, and second chances matter.

In the thick of the pandemic of 2020, Be Able opened it’s doors for the first time, as most other organizations were closing them. We’ve created a place where we engage with those in adversity by creating connections, cultivating skills, and opening doors of opportunity. Our community has embraced the magic of Be Able.
