Behind every “success story” are a hundred invisible steps.
Success does not come instantly. I think we all know this from our own journey. But for some of our neighbors, success might require more small steps than we might assume.
Someone sat with a case manager, unsure if they could trust again. They came back the next week—maybe late, maybe quiet—but they came back.
Paperwork was tracked down. ID replaced. Health records requested.
A ride was arranged. A coat was found. A call was made.
An agency answered. Then didn’t. Then did.
A friend encouraged them. A volunteer helped them laugh again.
Transformation is rarely dramatic or quick. It’s made of small, brave moments, setbacks, restarts, and more. The success stories of our neighbors are made possible by a community that keeps showing up—even when progress is slow.
To all of you who support this quiet, gritty, behind-the-scenes work: thank you. You may never see the full ripple effects of your impact, but I promise you, they are real.
We’ll keep showing up. We hope you will too.

Our summer intern – and official Garden Guru – with David and proudly showing off a fresh harvest from the Be Able Garden!
What's great about this garden isn't simply the produce that's growing within. It's the growth seen from working in it. A small sense of purpose. A quick activity for stress reduction. A quiet space for reflection, growth, and personal joy. |

“I believe in reformation. And I believe you are the perfect example of what it means to be reformed.” — Judge Bosch |
In June, Taron stood before the court and told his story—not of excuses, but of hard work, responsibility, and transformation. While the State recommended denying his early release from probation, Taron’s own life spoke louder.
He completed all requirements early – paid off his fines, maintained sobriety, found employment while homeless, and more.
His probation officer called him a model client. The judge called him a perfect example of reformation. We call him FAMILY, and we are so proud. |
It might be upside down, but it's simple!
